Today is another spectacular music maker birthday, and it's Guy Hovis! The man we know as one half of Guy & Ralna hails from Tupelo, Mississippi where one cannot help but be musical. Orginally, he planned on being an accountant after graduating from Ole Miss (University Of Mississippi), but thankfully decided on being a musician which led him to 12 wunnerful seasons on The Lawrence Welk Show.
Oh, he and Ralna English were husband and wife from 1969 to 1984.
Now remarried, to Sis Lundy Hovis, he makes his home in Jackson and when he isn't singing....he works as head of US Senator Trent Lott's state offices.
Happy Birthday Guy, may there be many more down the road!

Attended the Bear Creek Farms show two night ago in Indiana. This is the first time I have heard Ralna and you in person. It was a very good show.
Your voices have a perfect blend and your styles are excellent together. There is no question that you and Ralna are the greatest singing couple of all time. I may be only a very, very amateur trumpet player and a guy that sings base in the small church choir, but I do know good music and good performers. I have heard the very best in my life time, starting with on site shows of all the big bands with all their singers.
I hope that you and Ralna will continue to sing together. It would be tragic if you didn't. You have done some great numbers over the years and there is no reason why you can't do many more.
