Come to think of it, it does sound a little Goofus to me.....

I don't think this is an accurate portrayal of Midwestern folk like myself.....

But Mary Lou and Jack do have a catchy little novelty number courtesy of our friends from You Tube though.

(Five Foot Two) Has Anybody Seen My Gal?

Time for another Musical Family sing along, let's join Mary Lou and Jack as they sing and dance to a novelty song from the 1920s....

Five foot two...
Eyes of blue...
But Oh! what those five foot could do...
Has anybody seen my gal?

Turned up nose...
Turned down hose...
Never had no other beaus...
Has anybody seen my gal?

Now if you run into
A five foot two
Covered with fur...

Diamond rings...
And all those things...
Betcha' life it isn't her

But could she love...
Could she woo...
Could she, could she, could she coo?
Has anybody seen my gal?

Five foot two...
Eyes of blue...
But Oh! what those five foot could do
Has anybody seen my gal?

Turned up nose...
Turned down hose...
Flapper, yes sir, one of those...
Has anybody seen my gal?

Now if you run into
A five foot two
Covered with fur...

Diamond rings...
And all those things...
Betcha life it isn't her...

But could she love...
Could she woo...
Could she, could she, could she coo?

Has anybody seen my gal?

How 'Ya Gonna Keep 'Em Down on the Farm?

Heck I don't know....maybe farmer's overalls made by Tommy Hilfiger?

...or maybe have one of the farmer's daughters sit on my lap?

Perhaps you might have a suggestion or two.

The Party of No No Nanette

Last week, we enjoyed the Music Makers with their salute to the songs of Vincent Youmans.

And one of those songs was "No No Nanette" with the music written by Youmans, with lyrics by Irving Caesar and Otto Harbach.

Mary Lou Metzger performed the song both at Tahoe, on last week's show and on record.

Just sit back, relax and turn up the volume to hear Mary Lou's recording from the No No Nanette album from Ranwood Records

Battle Of The Sexes - Sammy Kaye's "Daddy"

In the never ending battle between man and woman, we here at Welk Musical Family will try to resolve this contentious issue....with the help of a particular big band novelty song by Sammy Kaye.

You all know and love the song "Daddy (You Oughta Get The Best For Me)"

First, lets hear from the fellas (Curt Ramsey, Rocky Rockwell, Larry Dean, Aladdin & Bob Lido)

Next, we hear from the ladies (Tanya Falan, Andra Willis, Sandi Griffiths & Sally Flynn) as they serenade Larry Hooper

I hope that through music, we can be able to bridge the gender gap
