The year was 1969, the Lawrence Welk Show opened it's 15th season on ABC that fall and on that same episode marked the debut of a young and talented girl from Durant, Oklahoma the Maestro discovered at a tag dance at the Hollywood Palladium, where his band played Saturday nights.Of course, the girl I am referring to is Gail Farrell....
